Hostages

That this Synod,

i) recognises that the grief of the families of hostages is universal, knowing no boundaries of religion or nationality,

ii) conveys its deep sympathy to the families of all hostages who have suffered for so long the brutal savagery of
civil war,

iii) calls upon all states with influence to use their good offices to secure the release of all hostages of whatever
nationality; and

iv) prays earnestly for peace and tranquillity in the Middle East.
