That this Synod having in mind the changing circumstances in which the Church is placed in modern Australia, requests the Primate to appoint a Commission to investigate the organisation of the Church of England in Australia, with particular reference to

(a) the possible re-arrangements of provincial and diocesan boundaries, including the crossing of State boundaries;

(b) the greater use of provincial structures to handle administrative and property matters;

(c) the purpose and functions of the diocese as a unit of organisation;

and to report its findings to members of General Synod at least three months before the next meeting thereof.
