Helsinki Agreement on Human Rights

That General Synod expresses its deep and sustained concern at the Soviet Government’s continuing persecution of Christian and other dissidents in contravention of the Helsinki Agreement on Human Rights; it calls on all Anglican Christians to support by prayer and publicity those sentenced to and suffering in labour camps; it asks that the Primate communicate this resolution to the Soviet Ambassador in Canberra, the Patriarch Pimen in Moscow and the World Council of Churches.
