Statements as to the Faith Ritual Ceremonial or Discipline of this Church
The General Synod is empowered by s.4 and s.26 of the Constitution to make “statements as to the faith ritual ceremonial or discipline of this Church”.
The Diocese of Sydney has submitted two Statements for consideration at the Eighteenth Session of the General Synod.
The Statements have been incorporated into the Business Paper for the first day as motions at the request of a diocesan synod or diocesan council. See motions 20.3 and 20.4 on the Business Paper Day 1 GS18.
Rule V outlines the procedures for submitting, circulating and considering Statements.
Proposed statements must be lodged in the General Synod Office at least three months prior to the commencement of the synod session and must be circulated to diocesan General Synod members within 14 days.
The statements submitted by the Diocese of Sydney for consideration at GS18 were received prior to the deadline of 8 February 2022. The statements have been published and circulated to General Synod members within the 14 day requirements.
