That the General Synod of the Church of England in Australia expresses its appreciation at the increased interest and assistance given by the Commonwealth Government and the State Governments to the Aborigines of Australia and urges the Governments not to relax in their efforts for the welfare of this under-privileged minority. In particular, the synod urges the Governments to increase substantially this financial aid to assist the Aborigine Missions in implementing the Governments’ declared policy of assimilation of the Aborigines of Australia. Copies of this motion to be forwarded to the appropriate Ministers of the Commonwealth and State Governments.
