Board of Ministry and Training

Movers Grant, A.

That subject to the prior consideration of Standing Committee under Resolution 20 a Board of Ministry and
Training be established with the following responsibilities:
(a) to study and help to preserve essential facets of the Church’s ministry as these are made known in Holy Scripture and have been experienced in history and in this Church;
(b) to keep abreast of new understandings and trends in ministry, to monitor experiments and dispense information to dioceses and parishes;
(c) to help in establishing and maintaining the standards required for ministry training in Australia in the light of this Church’s mission;
(d) to collaborate with colleges, dioceses and national bodies engaged in training persons for ordained and lay ministry so that they may evaluate their work regularly against the established standards;
(e) to facilitate the exchange of information and the sharing of resources between the training agencies, and the Australian Church at large; and
(f) to study developments in training in other Churches within Australia and overseas;
the Board to be constituted by the Primate in consultation with the Standing Committee; and to report annually to the Standing Committee and to the next meeting of the General Synod.
