That this General Synod calls on

(a) Members of Federal Parliament in the free vote on the Family Law Act to support only those changes which
enhance the institution of marriage and which protect children; in particular the Synod urges Members of Parliament to reject amendments which would result in divorce by mail without the parties in court.

(b) Dioceses to allocate sufficient resources to ensure the adequate preparation of children and committed
couples in the teaching and realities of Christian marriage.
