Fees of Theological Students

Having in mind the stated policy of the Commonwealth Government that as from the beginning of 1974 the Commonwealth intends to bear the cost of all tertiary education, both with regard to tuition fees and in certain cases living costs of students, and that this responsibility should include the fees and living expenses of students at ‘approved colleges’, this Synod respectfully requests the Primate, in consultation with the heads of other branches of the Church, and the Australian and New Zealand Association of Theological Schools, to make urgent representation to the Commonwealth Government with a view to ensuring that theological students at theological colleges will be included within the purview of this scheme.
