Members of other Churches taking part in Anglican church life

Movers Bishop of Willochra

That this General Synod notes that in some parts of the Church some Anglican congregations have, for reasons of isolation or transience, members of other Christian Churches taking part in the life and worship of such congregations. The General Synod acknowledges that the present definition in our Constitution of a member of this Church has the negative and limiting phrase “and is not a member of any other Church” and asks the Standing Committee to consider bringing some revision of this definition to the next General Synod through a change in the Constitution if necessary that may allow such members of other Christian Churches in such special or particular circumstances to take part as a member of an Anglican congregation.
