Missions to Seamen

Movers Bishop of Newcastle

This General Synod, recognising the Missions to Seamen as the instrument of its ministry to seafarers, and the fact that the Missions to Seamen, London, is still spending more than £8,000 per annum in the support of chaplains and readers in Australia ports, agrees that the Australian Church should achieve self support in this field at the earliest possible opportunity and urges dioceses and provinces to assume such responsibility.
