Movers Bishop of Bendigo

That this General Synod –

(1) notes the statement of Section 7 of the Constitution of this Church that “a diocese shall in accordance with
the historic custom of the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church continue to be the unit of organisation of this Church and shall be the sea of a bishop”;

(2) affirms the ancient authority of a diocesan bishop, subject only to much qualifications and conditions as are
imposed by lawful authority, to ordain by virtue of his office canonically fit deacons to the order of priesthood in his diocese.
