Seats in Synod

Movers Appleby, R.F.

(a) That the Honorary Treasurer of the Synod (Mr A. Scarra) be granted a seat in the Synod with permission
to speak on financial matters if called upon to do so by the President, but without power of proposition or vote;

(b) that the Director of the General Board of Religious Education (the Reverend T.L. Smith) and the Manager/
Secretary of the Australian Clergy Provident Fund (Mr R.J. Tyson) not being representatives at the Synod be granted seats in the Synod without power of proposition or vote during the passage of bills for canons or motions affecting their briefs and be granted permission to speak thereto if called upon by the President;

(c) that the General Secretary of the Australian Council of Churches (the Reverend D.M. Gill) and a presentative
of the Roman Catholic Church be welcomed as Observers and be granted permission to speak if called upon by the President.

The President informed Synod that the Reverend Father B. Byron was the representative of the Roman Catholic Church.
