Seats in Synod

Movers Archbishop of Adelaide

(a) That Synod grant the Honorary Treasurer (Mr A. Scarra) a seat in the Synod with permission to speak on financial matters if called upon to do so by the President, with power of proposition on financial matters but without vole,
(b) that the chairman of the Doctrine Commission (Bishop M.M. Thomas) be granted a seat in Synod and be granted permission to speak on doctrinal issues if called upon to do so by the President, but without power of proposition or vote;
(c) that the Manager/Secretary of the Long Service Leave Fund (Mr R.J. Tyson) and the solicitor for the Fund be granted seats in Synod during the passage of the Long Service Leave Bill and be granted permission to speak on the bill if called upon by the President but without power of proposition or vote;
(d) that the Reverend I.E. Allsop and the Reverend D.M. Gill be welcomed as ecumenical guests from the Australian Council of Churches; and the Reverend Father Gary Rawson a representative of the Roman Catholic Church be welcomed as an ecumenical guest of the Synod; and that our guests be granted permission to speak if called upon by the President;
(e) that the Right Reverend A.A. Malcolm and the Right Reverend C.M. Wood, not being members of this General Synod, be granted seats in Synod during any motion concerning Aboriginal matters and to address the Synod at an hour to be determined on the subject of a proposed National Aboriginal Anglican Council but without vote.
