Suspension of Standing Orders

Movers Handley, K.R.

That Standing Orders be suspended for the remaind3er of this session of General Synod so as to permit:

(a) The President to allow a member of Synod to address a question to the mover of a motion or of a Bill for the
Canon at the end of the mover’s speech in support of the motion or his second reading speech as the case may be, and for such question to be answered as soon as possible.

(b) The President, notwithstanding receipt of one or more amendments to a motion, may allow debate to
continue on the motion and any amendment, and at the end of the debate, he may put the amendments to the Synod in such order as he thinks will best enable the Synod to express its decision on the motion and the amendments.
