Unemployment

Movers Childs, W.H.S.

That this Synod expresses its deep continuing and increasing concern about the present high level of unemployment amongst the Australian people.

The Synod is of the opinion that any implication in economic policies that sustained unemployment is a necessary component of recovery is unacceptable. It therefore urges the Commonwealth and State Governments to take all possible actins urgently to provide willing persons with opportunities to exercise the dignity of work.

Copies of this resolution to be sent to the Right Honourable the Prime Minister, the Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, the Federal Treasurer and the Leader of the Federal Opposition and the Premiers of the several States.
