WCC 1991 Assembly

Movers Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn

That this Synod:

(1) warmly welcomes the fact that the WCC 1991 Assembly will be held in the capital city of our nation;

(2) encourages members of this Church to attend the Visitors’ Programme being conducted in association with
the Assembly;

(3) requests the dioceses and parishes to give active support to the study programme proposed for use on a
local ecumenical basis from Pentecost 1990 as preparation for the Assembly:

(4) urges parishes to join the On Line programme as a way of keeping in touch with the preparations for the
Assembly and giving financial and prayer support; and

(5) asks those dioceses which have not contributed to the $80,000 requested of the Anglican Church of Australia
to help cover local costs to reconsider their decision.
